For hawker stalls, coffee shops & food courts
QR code ordering for hawker stalls and coffee shops
Hawker stalls and coffee shops in Singapore use QR ordering so customers can order and pay by PayNow from their table or while in the queue, instead of shouting orders at the counter. The stall gets a printed ticket with the table number, cooks, and either delivers to the table or notifies the customer to collect. FnB Matters is free to start, with no contract.

Benefits
Why hawkers are adopting QR ordering
Shorter lunch queues
Office crowds order from their table instead of joining a 15-minute queue. You stop losing the ones who walk away.
No more counting change
PayNow money goes straight to your bank. Less cash handling, fewer mistakes.
One less helper per shift
The person who used to take orders can cook, pack or deliver to tables.
Chinese, Malay and Tamil
Customers read the menu in their language. You read tickets in yours.
Setup
Three ways to set it up
| Mode | How it works | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Order & collect | QR at the stall front. Customer orders, pays, and their phone shows when it’s ready. | Drinks, chicken rice, economy rice |
| Table delivery | Customer enters the table number. Ticket prints with it, helper delivers. | Zi char, BBQ seafood, stalls with a helper |
| Coffee shop-wide | One QR per table covering every stall. Each stall gets its own tickets. | Kopitiam and food court operators |
What it costs a hawker stall
Free to start. No setup fee and no lock-in contract. PayNow and card processing fees are charged per transaction and shown before you sign up. If it doesn't work for your stall, you can stop any time. See the full cost guide or our free POS.
Hawkers may be able to offset digital adoption costs through government schemes for hawkers and SMEs. Schemes and eligibility change, so check the latest on the NEA and GoBusiness websites.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Is QR ordering worth it for a single hawker stall?
If you have a lunch queue, usually yes. Every customer who orders and pays by QR is one fewer transaction at the counter, so you can stay at the wok. Stalls without a queue benefit less.
How does table delivery work at a hawker centre?
Customers scan a QR on the stall front or a table sticker and enter their table number. The ticket prints with it so your helper can bring the food over. Or use collect mode and the customer's phone shows when the order is ready.
Can I still take cash?
Yes. QR ordering runs alongside your normal counter. Customers who prefer to queue and pay cash still can.
Can several stalls in one coffee shop share a QR?
Yes. A coffee shop operator can put one QR on each table that shows every stall. Customers order from several stalls in one checkout and each stall receives only its own items.
Do I need a tablet or special hardware?
No. You can receive orders on any phone. A small Bluetooth receipt printer (about S$80–S$150) is optional but helps at peak hours.
