QR code ordering for restaurants in Singapore
QR code ordering lets restaurant diners order from their own phone the moment they sit down, add rounds through the meal and pay at the table by PayNow or card. For Singapore restaurants it means fewer service staff per shift, fewer wrong orders and faster table turns — with 9% GST and 10% service charge calculated automatically.

Benefits
What changes when your restaurant switches to QR ordering
Servers serve, not take orders
Order-taking is the most repetitive part of a shift. Move it to the diner’s phone and the same team covers more tables.
Rounds without waving
The second beer, the extra fried rice, the dessert — ordered the second they think of it.
Clean kitchen tickets
"No MSG", "less spicy", "gravy separate" arrive typed. Station routing keeps the bar off the wok tickets.
Pay at the table
No 1.45pm cashier queue. Diners pay by PayNow or card and split the bill themselves.
Delivery from the same menu
Take your own delivery orders and send them with a Lalamove rider — no platform commission.
Numbers you can act on
Table turn times, best-sellers by hour and average bill, per outlet.

- Hotpot — soup base selection, add-ons and unlimited reorders
- Western & casual dining — doneness, sides and course firing
- Halal restaurants — certification tags on the menu

Train the team
A 30-minute session before service. Most teams are comfortable after one lunch.
Is QR ordering right for every restaurant?
Not always. Fine-dining restaurants where the server's recommendation is part of the experience often keep traditional service, sometimes using QR only for the wine list or payment. Restaurants with high volume, repeat customers and a menu that doesn't need explaining — which is most restaurants in Singapore — see the biggest benefit.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Will older diners be able to use QR ordering?
Most can — scanning a QR is second nature in Singapore after SafeEntry and PayNow. For diners who prefer not to, staff can place the order from the POS, and it lands on the same bill.
Can diners keep ordering throughout the meal?
Yes. In tab mode, every order from the same table adds to one running bill. Diners order another round or dessert any time and pay once at the end.
Can I route drinks and food to different printers?
Yes. Each menu item is assigned to a station — bar, wok, grill, dessert — and prints or displays only there.
Does QR ordering work for buffets and hotpot?
Yes. Set per-pax pricing, time limits and unlimited-reorder rules for hotpot, Korean BBQ and à-la-carte buffet concepts.
